Gear

What bike(s) do you have?

1. A 21-speed Vitus racing bike hanging on the wall – A great bike in its time. Happy days.
2. The Main bike – A 27-speed Mongoose Randonneur – 700C wheel, Alum frame touring bike, converted from STI and drops to GripShift and flat bars – Been around UK, Ireland, Malaysia and New Zealand. Vivente make a steel framed version, which Santa forgot to put in his bag.
3. My favourite – The Coromandel Cruiser – 27 wheel, flat bars, steel frame bitza – Made out of various other bikes and K-mart bits.
4. The MTB – Stolen from my son – Fitted a steel frame and rigid forks – Now it’s a great bike to do laps around the neighbourhood.
5. The Taiwan Ladies Special – Unloved and unused. Say no more.
6. “Fukky” – A drop-bar steel framed Japanese Fukaya – A little heavy, but a great bike to train on (when I used to train).
7 and 8. They’re in there somewhere.
